Take these little socks on tour! These ankle socks are cleverly made for comfort—and easy knitting! A free pattern designed for the 2019 Puget Sound LYS Tour, the Short-Row Touring Socks are started at the toe with a provisional cast-on (hooray, seamlessness!). Shaped with German short-rows, both toe and heel have a nice, smooth finish. With an ankle-length cuff, these socks are a quick knit—a great project to bring on tour!

For the Short-Row Touring Socks, we couldn’t resist the hand-dyed, speckled whimsey of Feet, from The Plucky Knitter. A bouncy, fingering-weight blend of 90% extra fine Italian merino superwash and 10% nylon, Feet is soft and sturdy. Perfect for… well, your feet! And that palette of playful speckles, variegations, and flashes of bright color is sure to inspire a happy dance!

FINISHED SIZE
To fit a medium adult with 3”/7.5cm cuff. Finished sock length should be 1/2”/1.25cm shorter than measured foot length from back of heel to tip of toe.

1 skein Plucky Knitter Feet (425 yds/388m each). Or approx. 245 yds/224m of an equivalent fingering-weight sock yarn per pair. Yardage yields up to 10”/25cm foot. Add or subtract 7 yds/m per knitted 1/4”/.5cm per pair.
Note: Choose a yarn with some nylon and high twist for long lasting hard-wearing socks.
