Having been asked to find a simple mitten pattern for preemies and not having any success, I decided the only thing for it was to write my own. This pattern has a long rib (to help it stay on and cover IV access) as requested by our local SCBU.

Gauge is not critical but of course will affect the finished size, however as preemies and babies in SCBU come in a variety of sizes, the most important thing is that your mittens are tiny/small rather than getting exact gauge.

Please feel free to knit from this pattern for personal and charity use, but do not use it, or any items made from it, for profit.
