OOHH BOOYY!!!

Making your own toys, it couldn’t get cuter or easier than this. This is a 3-in-1 pattern that allows you to create a basic body shape but then finish as a bunny, cat, or a monkey… or make all three“

This is a perfect beginners/easy level pattern due to simple increasing and decreasing to create basic shapes. There are full colour photos through to help, and also some finishing touch videos on my facebook page @RelishTots

You’ll notice that the monkey face detail is similar to that of my Makoto pattern, however the face, body and limbs are different requiring much simpler increasing and decreasing stitches. I just couldn’t resist giving this monkey the same cheeky face. Makoto would be a great next project if you want your next challenge and begin to learn colour changes. He also makes up slightly larger too at 25cm.

Amigurumi is derived from the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll. Amigurumi is often written in US terms but for beginners in the UK the pattern is written in English using UK crochet terms. Once you’ve grasped this, picking up a US term pattern will be no problem.

What you need:
3.5 mm or 3.75mm crochet hook
50-100g yarn (I use Drops Paris which is Aran weight 100% cotton)
Polyester toy stuffing
Black yarn in desired weight
6 or 9mm Safety eyes, if using
Yarn needle, stitch marker and pins
