There are three sections in this sideways-worked beaded shawlette: the lace edging, the center that widens and then narrows, and a clever tubular edge on top. Beads are placed with the crochet hook method. This design is another in the new series of crescent shaped silhouettes. I find this shape incredibly graceful to wear, something between a shawl and a wrap.

Sister Joan is dedicated to my good friend Joan Deneen, late of Janesville, WI. Knitting friends are the best friends, and Joan was the best knitting friend anyone could wish for. She is sorely missed.
