SKILL:
Intermediate - this hat looks beautiful because it has lots of twisted stitches and cables. Be prepared! but do it cause it’s worth it :)

YARN:
Approximately 250-275 yds (229-251m) of fingering weight wool. Sample uses Snow Capped Yarns, Olde Salt Collection, Egg Island in Blowing Sixty.

GAUGE:
30 sts x 38 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stocking stitch, blocked (row gauge is not critical)

NEEDLES:
US #3 / 3.25 mm or size needed to obtain gauge

ADDITIONAL TOOLS:
Cable needle, 7 stitch markers (1 stitch marker should be different to indicate beginning of round)

FINISHED DIMENSIONS:
To fit an average youth/adult head
Approximately 15” (38 cm) unstretched / 23” (58.5 cm) stretched

Pattern is fully charted and has complete written instructions.
If you love charts only, print pages 1,2,5.
If you love written instruction only, print pages 1-4.

This hat is easily adapted in length to make it a beanie or a much longer slouchy hat but be aware this will effect the amount of yarn used.

SKOOKUM - skoo-kuh m - finely detailed; excellent; first-rate
