Everyone loves an easy-going summer weight slouchy hat. Here’s one of my designs taken from a few hats I’ve seen on the street and combining my favorite aspects of each.

It’s striped in warm weather colors, has a rolled brim, instead of standard ribbing, and has just the right amount of slouch to make it hip.

The finished hat as shown fits most adult or teen-sized heads, 20-23”.

You’ll need to know how to cast on, knit, purl, decrease and change colors to make this hat. I’d say it was geared toward an intermediate knitter, but if you’re a beginner, take advantage of the videos on youtube to show you step by step what each term means. Ravelry.com and other knitting sites also have instructions to help you out.

The pattern calls for worsted weight cotton blend yarn, but any weight yarn to get your gauge would be OK.
