Since opening my shop, I’ve been designing primarily Miniature Dachshund sweaters and dresses, but my muse and model Lena crossed over the Rainbow Bridge July 26, 2021, just before her 17th birthday. Lena’s designs live on, but now I’m designing for other small and medium breed dogs, with the help of friends and their doggies.

This is my first design since losing Lena and my friend Wendy generously offered her precious Lili Pad to be a model. Doesn’t Lili Pad look adorable?

The color work in the Snazzy Striped Dog Sweater is achieved by using slip stitches. Slip stitches are a wonderful way to knit two colors without having to carry yarn along the rows on the back of the work. Just carry the yarn along the left edge and allow the slip stitches to provide the colorful design! Easy, right?

I specialize in designs for Beginner knitters. The sweater is knitted flat and seamed, however, I provide options for the more advanced or adventurous knitter.

  1. For those who would like to knit the ribbed collar in-the-round, I provide optional instructions for doing this on 3 double-pointed needles, then proceeding to knit the rest of the garment flat on straight needles.

  2. For those who want to knit the ribbed sleeves in-the-round on double-pointed needles, the pattern is written for this … BUT … I include instructions for knitting the ribbed sleeves flat on straight needles, then seamed.

  3. For those who prefer not to knit the ribbed sleeves at all, I provide instructions for doing a crochet edge around the armhole.

I’m always here to help my buyers, so if you have any questions as you work up the design, please contact me at the E-mail address provided on the pattern.
