These very warm socks knit up quickly and are perfect for playing in the snow or hiking across a parking lot with a bag full of good things for dinner. You may choose to knit the knee-highversion or keep going for a thigh-high version, which may be worn pulled up or slouching down. An optional purl design on the top of the foot mirrors the colorwork. The yarns you see come from two wonderful yarn companies, one in Montana and one in Wyoming, each run by a pair of women. Their yarns and colorways are inspired by the breathtaking landscapes where they live. The blue-green yarn, Fusion, was grown and spun by Mountain Meadows and dyed by Mountain Colors. I love it when yarn companies join hands like this; it is so knitterly.

The pattern includes complete instructions for my Sweet Tomato Heel.
