SPECIAL OFFER - GET ONE FREE! - Add five patterns, including collections/ebooks (each collection/ebook counts as one pattern), from my Ravelry Store in one single transaction and get the least expensive one free.
Please Note that this will not work in conjunction with any other promotion.

Soft Focus is part of The Hand in Hand Collection - a delicious collection of patterns all using more than one yarn or colour to create depth and texture to your items whilst keeping them simply stunning and stunningly simple! Purchasing the collection as an ebook will be more economical than buying the patterns individually and is the only way to get the pattern that is exclusive to the collection. Please see the lower box to the right for the ‘collection’ purchase option.

Long walks down country lanes, a shopping spree, meeting friends for lunch; whatever the occasion when it is cold you need a scarf. Dress it up or dress it down, Soft Focus is the perfect accessory for any cool day outing. Worked in mainly stocking stitch with textured sections (these could be worked in plain stocking stitch for a slightly different look), this pattern is easy to knit and easy to wear – what are you waiting for?

REQUIREMENTS
Yarn: Lichtfaden Silk Halo, Handmaiden Fine Yarn Maiden Hair, Dibadu Funnies Curly Silk, Skein Queen Ripple, Fyberspates Faery Wings, Dibadu Funnies Curly Silk, Dye for Yarn MoFluff, Green Tea Yarn Rooibos or a non-fuzzy yarn such as Madelinetosh Pashmina, John Arbon Textiles Alpaca Supreme, Madelinetosh TML, Skein Queen Wriggle, Pandia’s Jewels Singularity and other fingering and sport weight yarns. I used two skeins of Yarn A and one of Yarn B to knit this shawl using Lichtfaden Silk Halo and Dye for Yarn MoFluff. Needles: 3.5mm (US4), 3.75mm (US5) needles.
Finished size: 190cm (75 ins) long and 40cm (15.5 ins) wide before blocking and 229cm (90.5 ins) long and 38cm (15 ins) wide after.
You will also need: A 4.5mm crochet hook for the provisional cast on and a smooth waste yarn, stitch markers (ten markers A and two markers B), needle, a cable needle, blocking wires, pins and a pompom. The pompom can be either made from yarn or a purchased one. I bought mine from Toft Alpaca for a touch of luxury and based my colour choice on my Yarn B. https://www.toftuk.com
Gauge: 23 stitches to 4 inches over stocking stitch of main body before blocking, 22 stitches to 4 inches after, however, gauge is not critical though changes in gauge will result in a change in yardage requirements.

The pattern is both fully written and charted.

You will find it useful to print your pattern on a colour printer, however, coloured pencils could be used to highlight aspects of the pattern.

If you like my designs please join us in the Boo Group where you will find a place to discuss my patterns, show off your knitting and hear about KALs and MKALs.

Patterns already set up by KnitCompanion can be purchased, in the KnitCompanion Store, for knitters who like to use KnitCompanion, but prefer to have their charts already set up.
