This is such an easy shawl to make in Old Shale (feather and fan) stitch. Experienced knitters really would not need a pattern to make this, but often still like to see the way others have used yarn, colours, and the quantity of yarn needed when using the particular yarn, stitch pattern and needle size. However, for many relatively new knitters, a shawl like this is wonderfully effective but easy to manage, and is a great introduction to knitting with fine yarns.
