When you twist a stitch, that stitch positively pops off of the fabric. Combine this effect with lace, and magical things happen. I decided that this motif looked like the tips of asparagus, but asparagus is not very poetic. Luckily, I discovered that the folk name for this spring vegetable is sparrow grass, which has a lovely ring to it, don’t you think?

Yarn color: Oyster Heather
Notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle

The smaller needle is used for the brim and the larger needle is used for the body of the hat. Gauge is on the larger needle.

Pattern can be worked entirely from written instructions or with supporting charts.
