Intarsia requires 2 50g balls A, 1 each B, C, and D

Query sent to the designer before errata were published:

There seems to be a couple errors in the pattern. For teacup row 1, would it be 22 sts A rather than 32 stitches A so that there are 10 stitches on either side of the intarsia pattern? Also, in the chart, shouldn’t there be 3 spots in “C” up the center of the chart (there are only 2). Would a 4-line “spot” start on row 9 of the pattern in column 16, in the same?

The designer’s response:

Well SPOTted! Yes they did miss out a spot in the book and I have pointed this out to them - quite an obvious omission you would think. I had not noticed the other mistake previously. Upon further investigation I see that I had just written ‘centre motif as required’ in my original pattern. They have obviously tried to clarify this with the insertion of ’Teacup row 1’ but only managed to confuse things with inaccurate numbers.

By my calculation it would be be knit 20 A, 8 B, 21 A (to add up to 49 stitches). … I would just mention that the size fits quite a large teapot - as you may notice they have photographed it on a smaller teapot and it looks quite loose. If you wanted a smaller fitting cosy you could cast on less stitches to start with (eg 78, split into 39 and chop 5 stitches off either side of motif (so knit 15A, 8 B, 16A).

By my counting you would start the missing spot on row 10 of the teacup, thereby leaving a gap of 2 rows between top of the underneath spot and bottom of the new one.
