Another installment in the quest for the perfect head covering, this one inspired by the Northern Lights dancing over the Prairies. It’s knit in the round from the crown out to the brim, and you may be able to squeak by with one ball of Noro’s scintillating Aurora. A fantastic quickie project or gift, it’s hypnotizing to watch the sparkling yarn knit up.

Despite the glitz of the yarn when in a ball, as a finished hat it’s quite restrained and lovely. It’s not quite a tam, not quite a beret, not quite a toque, heavy enough to add warmth when you’re outdoors, and light enough to keep it on when you come inside.
