Socks for springtime! The idea for these sprightly socks began to germinate in the deepest, darkest depths of winter, inspired by the vivid colors of Wollmeise and the knowledge that spring was coming. By the time I actually began to knit, the snow was melting, and as the socks flew off the needles, the first of the spring flowers had arrived. Put a little spring in your step with this easy, slipped-stitch pattern.

The pattern also includes photo tutorials for the rectangle toe-up cast-on and German short-row heel.

The generous WM yardage ensures that the larger size can be knit with one skein; other yarns may require two skeins. Please swatch and check gauge to make sure you’ll have enough yarn!

SIZES: Small (women’s size 7-10): Approximately 7“ in circumference, unstretched, when washed and lightly blocked. Length will vary; as shown approx. 10” heel to toe and 8.5” cuff to ankle.

Large (men’s size 8.5-11): Approximately 8“ in circumference, unstretched, when washed and lightly blocked. Length will vary; knitting to instructions will give approx. 11” from heel to toe and 9.5” from cuff to ankle.
