This shawl, in icy blue, with its rapidly moving lace pattern, evokes the flow of brooks and rivulets as the spring snows begin to melt.

The shallow, rounded shaping of the shawl with its long tails is achieved by working increases along both sides every row. The overall zigzag lace stitch pattern is worked with yarn overs in every row against a Garter Stitch ground. As a final step, the lace edging is knitted on along the lower edge.
