notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle and blocking supplies
(I used a steam iron to ensure the pointed end was flat. I didn’t block anywhere else, since I wanted to garter stitch to be extra squishy)

gauge: 10sts and 20.5 rows = 4 inches 10 cm in garter st

size: one size, approximately 19.5 inches 49 cm in circumference and 11.5 inches 29 cm at the longest point

abbreviations: k=knit, yo=yarn over, kfb=knit front and back, pm=place marker, sl=slip, sl=slip purlwise, sm=slip marker

The SQUISH cowl is cast on at the point and knit flat bottom up, later joined and knit in the round. Knitting garter st in the round means alternating between knit and purl rounds. The cowl has a small unseamed flap feature on one side that helps it hug your shoulder.
