This simple cowl is part of a series of designs that feature stitch patterns from more complex Provenance Knits designs. The stitch pattern is featured in the Cable Trellis Cowl design

The inspiration for the StitchTaster – Cable Trellis design was from the German book Omas Strickgeheimnisse, a great resource for unusual lace patterns. The cabled trellis with center lace diamond was created by Juliane Pauker, a knitting designer in the mid-19th century.

The stitch pattern is also featured in the Cable Trellis Cowl design.

Sample on left shown in Heavy Lace - Shelridge Yarns Touch Fine, Natural White; and Fingering, Shelridge Yarns Soft Touch Ultra, Pussywillow . The cowl can be doubled for extra warmth, or draped full-length around the neck.

Pattern was professionally tech edited by Robin Melanson.
