A gorgeous, extra long cardigan with a cosy double moss stitch shawl front and an intricate cabled design. Slipped, twisted stitches in the cables are designed to look great in handdyed yarn. It’s a top down, totally seamless cardigan with ¾ length sleeves. Both written instructions and charts are given for all the cable patterns, and it has instructions for 8 sizes to fit a 75 – 150 cm/30 – 60” bust.

This is the sister pattern to our Strathearn Cardigan. Strathearn is a beautiful part of Scotland that we visited often before the pandemic hit. I knit the bulk of this cardigan during lockdown so the name is for somewhere a bit closer to home – Strathclyde.

Suggested Yarn: Madelinetosh Work Sock Sport (sadly discontinued – substitute info on yarnsub) note that this is a sport weight yarn not a sock yarn.

Gauge: 19 sts and 27 rows = 10 cm/4” in reverse stocking stitch after blocking with 4 mm/US 6 needle. Please note that gauge over cable pattern is significantly different due to slipped sts, the length of one repeat of the Cable Pattern 2 should be approx. 16 cm/6.5” long.
