Stria is a lacy, two-color, asymmetrical rectangular scarf knit in fingering weight wool. The pattern gives instructions for making either a scarf (shown in the photos) or a wider and longer shawl.

Stitch patterns are given in both written form and a chart.

To make the Stria scarf, you will need 480 yds/439 m fingering weight yarn for main color (MC); 150 yds/138 m fingering weight yarn for contrast color (CC).

To make the Stria Shawl, you will need 1,000 yds/915 m fingering weight yarn for main color (MC); 325 yds/298 m fingering weight yarn for contrast color (CC).

You’ll also need US #4/3.50mm needles OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

Gauge: 23 sts/34 rows = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch after blocking.

Pattern difficulty: advanced beginner

Approximate finished (blocked) dimensions:
Scarf: 65 inches/165 cm long by 9.75 inches/25 cm wide
Shawl: 69 inches/176 cm long by 16.25 inches/42 cm wide
