Stripe on Stripe socks were inspired by striped homemade rugs: make something bigger by using what you have at hand. The sample socks are knitted using three colors, but the striping is designed to work with any number of colors from only two to as many as you can fit in. The pattern includes a design sheet (on page 5) for easy color planning.
These socks are designed to have 1-2 cm (1/4-3/4”) positive ease around the foot.

Sizing: adult’s S (M, L)
Finished circumreference: 22 (23,5, 25,5) cm = 8 5/8 (9 1/4, 10) inches

Materials: Approximately 100 g (~220 yards) worsted weight wool or wool blend yarn in main color and less than 50 g (~110 yards) in contrasting color.

Skill level: Intermediate. The pattern includes knitting in round with DPN’s, a short row heel (using a variation of yo short rows) and stranding. Colorwork instructions only charted.

You can find a photo tutorial for the short row heel here.
