Stuffed Mittens (C,W,M)
This pattern is not currently available as a stand-alone. It is one of 43 patterns in a printed magazine offered for sale (or look for it in your local library!)
These overstuffed mitts are loosely knit in worsted weight, then stuffed a whole new way: Contrasting color tufts of bulky yarn are cut to length, then firmly fastened to the fabric using a hook (latch or crochet). The right side of second picture down shows mittens inside-out with the tufts showing, the third picture down shows a man’s mitten laid next to a child’s, the fourth picture down shows a women’s pair before and after stuffing.

For KIDS, these would be good for a snowball fight or sledding
-
For ADULTS, these would be good to keep in the car, for when you need to scrape the windshield or pump gas in the cold--a thoughtful gift for a cold-weather driver
Currently available, in print or on-line via the 2012 edition of Interweave Knits Holiday Gifts or via your local library.
