Call it a trivet or a table mat. Put it under a tea pot or flower vase. Use it for Halloween or Day of the Dead celebrations. Or just keep it around for fun. This knitted Sugar Skull Cookie is lots of fun to knit and lots of fun to use. Just use up bits of fingering yarn for colorful knitted cookies to match the ones you bake in your oven. Or use the colors of Knit Picks Palette I chose: White (50 gm), Black (20 gm), Peapod (20 gm), Canary (15 gm), cotton Candy (10 gm), and Blue (10 gm).
This pattern is just a combination of small knitted tubes and strips of garter stitch sewn together as you go. Lots and lots of very clear pictures to show you construction. The last page gives a list of pieces you will need to knit. This is a really great road trip project!
Just remember it is wool. Never place very hot pots or pans on your wool trivets. Wool will burn!
