The smell and vibrant colours of Kool Aid remind me of the summer lemonade stands and water balloon fights of my youth in sun drenched New Mexico. If the sun was out all the kids were sure to sport a colourful moustache or even dyed fingers from having the intensely sour powder straight from the packet with a little sugar.

These scarves were designed to be knit along with, and are included in, my Kool Aid dye kits available at my Etsy shop ‘My Mama Knits’. The simple stitch pattern creates gentle waves that really make the best of any colour combination, no matter how crazy the hank looks!

Why not dye with friends and share the resulting yarn to make striped scarves for you both? It’s a great way to create a wearable keepsake to remind you of those special summertime friendships.
