Worked from the bottom up, this Victorian-inspired, lacy, mandarin-collared neckpiece fastens in front with self loops and bobbles, adding a dressy touch to a crew-neck tee, a scoop-necked blouse, or a jewel neckline dress. Worked in white, its rows of garter stitch remind me of foaming waves at the beach; its bobbles are little seashells.

A good yarn choice would be something that has a weighty drape when blocked: bamboo, perhaps, or a tencel blend, or even soy. The finished product should have a little bit of sheen and a drapey hand.

Suitable for an intermediate knitter.
