The blues and creams and browns of this yarn are reminiscent of the sun setting over the Anasazi’s cave-dwellings at Mesa Verde (CO). A few years ago we camped down there … and this shawl is a salute to the lovely memories: with the Ancient Pueblans’ cave openings scattered around the Mesa, the layers of the exposed earth showing their lovely, natural colors, and the sun setting over it all. GORGEOUS!

This shawl is knit in the round from the neck opening, utilizing three different lace stitch patterns which will broaden your lace-knitting skills. A fun knit … a gorgeous shawl … and memories of an amazing family-camping trip.

• note that the three stitch patterns have charts – which I placed at the end of this design. If you would like digitized copies of these charts, please email me directly (bhwh.mary@gmail.com)
• all the stitch patterns are worked in the round –
o chart 1 (Spider Web Lace) will be worked 6 times around on 72 sts
o chart 2 (Circles of Light Lace) will be worked 10 times around on 120 sts
o chart 3 (Anasazi Caves Lace) will be worked 12 times around on 240 sts
• NOTE: Anasazi Caves Lace increases stitches every so often by multiple yarn-overs as noted
