Welcome to the very first Apple Tree Knits’ Mystery KAL! Sweetness and Light is a fun, entertaining knit with a little bit of beading to bring some extra light into your day. Sure to be even more fun than dessert!

The MKAL has now begun! But it’s not too late to join in - we’ll be knitting along for many weeks to come :-)

A few hints:

  • Lace (no patterning on WS rows)
  • Top-down
  • A little bit of beading
  • Perfect for gradients
  • Plenty large enough to keep off the autumn chill

2 options for participating:

1: Purchase the pattern here, and head to EarthFaire to choose the perfect kit for your Sweetness and Light! Designed especially for this MKAL, these kits include 1 skein of Apple Tree Knits Plush Fingering gradient and coordinating top-quality beads. Ellen of EarthFaire has the most amazing knack for matching beads to yarn - these kits are truly stunning! Kits here: http://earthfaire.com/sweetness-light-mystery-order-p-6482.html

2: Purchase the pattern here, and use your stashed Plush Fingering gradient or any comparable fingering-weight yarn. If using a different yarn be sure to choose one with at least 560 yards.

How it works:

When you purchase the pattern you will receive the basic pattern information, including yardage, gauge, and notions. A total of 3 clues will be sent out as pattern updates, starting on November 1st. The second clue will be released on November 8th and the third on November 15th. Then the big reveal on November 22nd!

We’ll all be knitting along in the Apple Tree Knitters’ Sweetness and Light MKAL thread - I hope you’ll join us! In order to keep the mystery, please only post photos of your wip in the appropriate Spoilers thread and use a placeholder photo for the first photo on your project page (either the MKAL photo or a photo of your yarn work great!).
