These attention grabbing socks feature stars that actually seem to be in motion. You’ll move through your day with a little added energy wearing these swirling stars on your feet!

This design is suitable for knitters who are comfortable working stranded knitting in the round on double pointed needles, and reading a chart for the color work sections. The pattern consists of 4 pages and has been test knit and professionally tech edited to be clear and free of errors.

Finished Measurements:
Foot circumference: 8 (9 1/2) in/ 20.5 (24) cm.
Leg length (cuff to top of heel): 7 in/ 18 cm.
Foot length: adjustable; yardages given are for 8 (9) in/ 20.5 (23) cm.
Shown in size S, with an 8 in / 20.5 cm foot length.

Gauge:
30 sts and 35 rnds/ 4 in/ 10 cm measured over stranded knitting worked in the round.

What You Need:

  • 245 (309) yds/ 224 (282) m of fingering weight sock yarn color A and 136 (172) yds/ 124 (157) m of fingering weight sock yarn color B, for foot length up to 8 (9) in/ 20.5 (23) cm. Add 31 (63) yds/ 28 (58) meters of each color for each inch of foot length added. Sample shown in Valley Yarns “Huntington” (75% Fine Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon, 218 yds/50 g); color A = #033 “Red Purple”, color B =#0010 “Natural”.

  • one set of dpns in size required to obtain gauge. I used US #2/ 2.75mm. You may need a size or two above or below that.
