This is a deeply ribbed and cabled hat that is readily adjustable from small (newborn) to large (adults) sizes by changing yarn from fingering to Aran weight.

The ribs and cable have and interesting rhythm as you knit, changing from 1 X 1 ribbing to 2 X 2 ribbing (the cable)

The hat features a deep folded back cuff and the pattern has 2 sets of directions; one for knitting flat and seaming, and one for knitting in the round.

The sample hat in white hat (sized for an infant), is knit in fingering yarn on size 3/3.25 needles, the blue, is knit with worsted weight yarn and size 7 needle and fits an medium adult size. With aran weight, and size 8 needles the hat is a men’s size hat.
