I have a Web page, (see link above) that features links to my Ravelry store, and to my Cast on tutorial.
The cast on tutorial has grown to be a Cast on, Bind off, and Selvage stitch tutorial, with lists, and links to videos directions for these. The Web site is frequently updated, with new Cast on, Bind off and Selvage techniques added frequently.
Video links, (and text tutorials) are available for most of the Cast ons Bind offs and Selvage stitches that are listed.
I also have a YouTube Channel (with 60+ videos of knitting techniques featured)
Golden Apples is my face book page --just for knitting. The Golden Apple page features some video not found on YouTube or my web page. Join others in “Like”ing it and using it as an additional resourse for all things knitting.
I have been knitting since dinosaurs roamed the earth, or so it seems. I am self taught, and learned to knit age 9 or so. I started age 8.5, but I remember having real success by my 9th birthday. Like many self taught knitters, I am a combo knitter, making standard knits and Eastern purls. I can (and sometimes do) make stardard purls, and i also sometimes knit in an Eastern (aka Portugues) style, using my thumb to wrap the yarn. I also can knit in a true left handed (or reverse) style.
I also sew (and have been sewing even longer than I have been knitting!) --that includes clothes, slipcovers, curtains, as well as embroidery. All sorts of embroidery: needlepoint, quilting, and sewn bead work.
I am color and light obsessed--and love color (every color)
I have a number of knitting obsessions--leaf motif’s, double knitting, color work, socks, and, of course, cast on methods.
Many years knitting, means lots of time for many different obsessions!
Part of my cast on obsession is expressed in my knowledge of over 60 (and constantly growing list!) of ways to cast on.
I have lived all my life in NYC, and couldn’t think of living anywhere else!
