Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the giraffe is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). Giraffes in the wild have unique coat patterns, and your giraffe can too as the spots are decorated with Swiss darning (duplicate stitch) after knitting. Included in the pattern is a chart of patch shapes you can copy on your toy.

NEEDLES
A pair of 3.5mm straight single pointed knitting needles (US 4)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Hayfield Bonus DK in brown, yellow and white; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour will be more than adequate

A darning or tapestry needle for seaming
Domed buttons for eyes
Toy filling

One size only - 39cm tall.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
