The Thylacine (Thylacinus cynocephalus: dog-headed pouched-dog) is a large carnivorous marsupial now believed to be extinct. It is also known as the Tasmanian Tiger.
Some people swear they have seen them, but we are still waiting for definitive proof of its continued existence.
Knitting a toy Tassie Tiger won’t bring them back from extinction, but it’s the next best thing, if you love them.

This is a flat knit pattern, using DK weight wool yarn and 3 mm knitting needles.
Size: About 30 cm ( 12”) tall and 58 cm ( 23”) long

Tension/ Gauge: This is not of critical importance. The main consideration is that the needles you use are about 2 sizes smaller than recommended for the yarn, to achieve a tight firm fabric, suitable for stuffing. With the recommended yarn and needles, you will get about 26 sts and 36 rows to 10 cm (4”).
