This is a very very warm, very very soft, richly cabled zip-front vest, designed for Hunt Valley cashmere 8ply yarn. It was first made available in kit form at Vogue Live NYC in 2011, and I have been wearing the version I made for myself on cold winter days ever since.

The kit with yarn and pattern is currently available from Hunt Valley Cashmere.

The pattern, as written, produces a vest 20” deep neck to bottom edge in back, 17” in front, with armhole depth 8”. Instructions and additional yarn requirements are given to increase the length so that the front and back cables meet correctly over the shoulder.

If your gauge differs from that specified or you substitute a different worsted or aran weight yarn, your yardage may change.

This updated version of the pattern includes written instructions as well as charts for the cabled areas.
