Terraform in Crochet is a simple, but addictive project designed to use those special skeins of yarn. (You know, the ones that you can’t find a pattern to match?) It is the perfect pattern for heavily variegated yarns, gradients, or plain solid yarns. The shape is an asymmetrical triangle with all increases occurring along one side. It can be made to any size with any weight yarn and hook combination.

The prototype used 400 yards of fingering weight yarn and a G/4.00mm hook for a small kerchief to wear under my jacket. It is the perfect size to add a bit of color at the collar without the extra bulk. It would also be a great shape for a full-size shawl to wrap around the shoulders to keep out the chill. It’s just enough “off-kilter” to keep it interesting but not so much that it becomes unusable.
