Mandelträdet was originally designed by Bohus Stickning / Annika Malmström-Bladini in 1953 and was recreated by Solveig Gustafsson and Pernille Silfverberg in 2019. This pattern is one of the few Bohus Stickning patterns knit from the bottom up.

To recreate Mandelträdet original charts were closely studied and vintage garments carefully examined in museums and private collections to make sure that the resulting patterns and yarns would match the original Bohus Stickning garments as closely as possible.

For Mandelträdet all yarns are 50% angora and 50% merino. The pattern color yarns are hand dyed by Pernille to match the original Bohus Stickning pattern colors. The main color, salmon, is dyed at the spinning mill.

The angora comes from AngoraGarnet’s own angora rabbits. We guarantee that our rabbits are treated humanely and live healthy lives. We also guarantee that the merino wool we use is produced without the controversial practice of mulesing.
