This is a pattern for a very “long wingspan” crescent shaped shawl that is comprised of two different lace stitches. The ornate lace edging stitch is added in the traditional Shetland manner, and gives a beautiful and graceful bottom to the shawl. Nor is it nearly as difficult as it looks.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a good working knowledge of lace knitting.

The shawl measures 70 inches at the widest points across the top and is 25 inches deep at the deepest point. It is made with one of the heavier of the fingering weight yarns, and is knit on size 7 (U.S.) needles.

The stitches are both charted and written out line by line.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).

The sample was expertly test knitted by Rachel McKinney who can be contacted at: 100creations @gmail.com, and is known on Ravelry as 100Creations. The sample was knitted using Shalimar’s Breathless, in colorway, Concord Grape.

The pattern is for sale right here on Ravelry and in my Etsy shop in the Crescent Shawl Section (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WearableArtEmporium?section_id=...)
