This is a pattern for a lacy shoulder cowl. The finished cowl measures 10 inches X 56 inches. The lace cowl can be worn as a spring garment, draping over your shoulders in a way that won’t fall off. Or it can be made to be warmer, by wrapping it around your neck and shoulders, as seen in the pictures. However, you may have a favorite way to wear cowls that’s different from mine. The lace stitch is a very open one, so it is suitable for at least three seasons. It is also a pretty and very feminine stitch.

The lace stitches are both charted, and written out line by line. There are also instructions contained within the pattern for an optional crocheted edging. (Note this is the only crochet in the entire pattern -- the optional edging)

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a good working knowledge of both knitting, purling, and lace knitting.)

The yarn used in the sample is made with Lorna;s Laces Sportmate yarn (https://lornas-laces.myshopify.com/collections/all/sportmate) in Colorway Rose. (Note: this yarn has been discontinued, but any heavy fingering or sport weight yarn will work for this pattern.

The sample was expertly test knitted by Rachel McKinney who can be contacted at: 100creations @gmail.com, and who is known on Ravelry as 100creations.
