I’ve always been fascinated by the gardening world quest to create a true blue rose. Many dedicated rose growers have tried over the years to produce a sky blue rose but as of yet that perfection has remained mysteriously elusive. Here’s to those that have tried and Portland, Oregon, the City of Roses.

I designed the hat and rose as one piece, done from the bottom up. It is knitted flat while doing the ribbing and rose and then in the round to the top. The rose leaves are knitted separately and attached.
