The original of this teddy bear was made in two days for a surprise baby shower. That’s why he’s called The Emergency Teddy Bear.

The Emergency Teddy Bear is knit in the round. The body and head are made in one piece. Arms and legs are knit separately and sewn on to the body.

The bear was originally made with Lion Brand Yarn’s Homespun bulky weight yarn, but you may use other weights if you want a smaller or larger bear. In Homespun, the finished bear is approximately 7 inches (17.5 cm) from seat to head.

8/30/18: I updated the pdf for this pattern to fix a few typos on the arms and legs. These were row/round changes and one switch from “knit” to “purl”
