It is hard not to feel a sort of romance when it comes to classic aran fisherman sweaters, sailboats, and the sea. “The Fisherman” is a cabled pillow based on a classic aran honeycomb pattern often used in fisherman sweaters, while “His Boat” is a simple stockinette pillow with bold stripes and a duplicate stitched silhouette of a sailboat.

Yarn – 160-220 yards aran-weight yarn as follows. The Fisherman (cabled pillow): approximately 220 yards/201 meters. His Boat (striped pillow): approximately 65 yards/60 meters color A and 95 yards/87 meters color B. Shown in Imperial Stock Ranch Columbia (100% Columbia wool; 220 yards/201 meters per 4 ounce/113 gram skein), colorways Natural (The Fisherman & color A) and Kingfisher (color B).
Gauge - 14 stitches = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch on larger needle, measured after blocking.
