This is my first published pattern - but not my first pattern. It grew out of a want for a shawl I had in my head but that I couldn’t find a pattern for. I wanted a comfort knit that didn’t require stitch counting or graph reading.

This pattern uses garter and stockinette stitches to change up texture and keep your knitting interesting, with stripes that create a wide border.

This pattern is intended to be accessible to any knitter, regardless of skill level and will work with a wide variety of fingering yarn. Necessary skills beyond basic knitting include numerous types of increase stitches, a garter tab cast on, and Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off. Tutorials are linked at the end of the pattern.

The yarns listed are suggested to give you ideas.

Recommended yarn:

main color: 1 to 2 skeins of solid color, at least 400 yards per skein

secondary color: half to 2 skeins - variegated or solid - at least 200 yards for a smaller shawl

Special thanks to these people - This would not have happened without their help and some light prodding.
