To me, dragonflies are the essence of summer. They bring back the warmth of the sun on your back, the buzzing of bees and the smell of roses.

This pattern is the stranded or fair isle version of my dragonfly themed cowls. In the middle of your knitting, you work a picot row that is where the cowl is folded over, doubled up and the cast on and cast off edges slip stitched together.

Knitted in fingering weight sock yarn and because the background and motif colours are switched after the picot round, the cowl is reversible.

Look for the double knitted Dragonflies in Chocolate version.
