Thistleback starts like a hat, ends as a shawl, and is pure pleasure to knit.

It’s worked in the round, stranded, with steeks down the sides. Borders, which provide a neat hem to hide the steeks, are picked up and knitted flat.

Kits are available at sundayknits.com.
