The idea of three wishes is a theme that runs through many stories and fables.

In keeping with this theme, this top down crescent shawl is adaptable to your wishes:

Begin with an optional plain section if you like.
Extend either lace section to any size (or you can reverse them).
Add beads for a starry twinkle.
Choose lace weight or fingering.

Written and charted, with pattern rows on the RS only

Many thanks to MadlaineYarn and Elegnad of http://www.madlaine.fr/ for the French translation

While knitting this shawl, I spent a lot of time wondering what I’d do if I was given three wishes. I’m still nutting out my answer (wishes are tricky things, as everyone knows, especially big ones) but one would be around raising environmental awareness, and another would be centred around global peace.

To that end, $1 from each pattern sale will go to www.peacedirect.org.

April 2022 - This fundraiser had been active for 7 & an half years, but due to dwindling sales, I’ll close it now to focus that energy on other things.

Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed so far. :)

From their website: “We are an international charity dedicated to supporting local peacebuilding.

In the world’s most fragile countries, we seek out local peacebuilders who are making a real difference – building peace from the grassroots up, preventing conflict in the places where it starts – locally.

They are disarming rebels, resettling refugees, healing communities, reviving economies. They work at great personal risk on crucial problems like child soldiers, women and conflict, youth and peace, political violence. They are the key to preventing conflicts and creating a lasting peace.

We find them, fund them, and promote their work to those in the wider world who can help with finance or influence.“

This sounds good to me, but I’m open to suggestions. Please stop by the Nimble Knits and comment in the Three Wishes discussion thread if you have a better idea. http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/nimble-knits/3093360/

(Next on the list was a never-ending supply of 90% Lindt, and to live next door to a yarn and bead shop. Still working on those. )
