My first sight of a Tinkerbell sock was when LisaD posted her original pattern in a mini sock swap group we shared. (Her lovely little sock is shown on a dragonfly sock blocker - quite appropriate to the design!) Having a Tinkerbell fanatic (my daughter) in the family, I immediately asked if she would share the pattern.

Unfortunately, she hadn’t written down what she had done, and she’d frogged several times to get the effect she wanted, so she couldn’t remember what the final pattern actually was. She kindly gave me permission to try to re-create it, and since I had a photo of her finished sock to work from, I was able to come up with a very similar finished sock.

Please enjoy - I’m sure all the fairies lurking around your homes will be happy to have new outfits in all sorts of colors!

One note on the wings …. the fabric of the original sock was organza, a stiff-ish see-thru fabric. I was not able to find it in my area without a long drive to a real fabric store, so I had to make do with what I could find at WalMart.

You will be joining 2 pieces of fabric using WonderUnder (or the equivalent product), so you can use something a little less stiff if you need to - I had to for my original sock - the little brown wood nymph sock sent to naillady1 & kindly photographed & shared by her.

You can also add shreds of metallic fabrics, or other decorative elements, to the wings before you iron the 2 pieces together … just be sure not to add too much. You don’t want your poor fairy to be so wing-heavy she can’t fly!
