Sometimes you need to just wind up that recent yarn purchase and knit for the pure joy if it. To remember why you knit.

The combination of a simple stitch pattern (the eyelet pattern from Therapy) and garter stitch in this shawl make it ideal for highly variegated yarns, but it will be equally beautiful in any solid color you love.

The pattern is easily memorized, and you don’t need to count stitches. It was designed with heavier-weight yarns (DK and worsted) in mind, but could be adapted for different weights.

As written and knit in a DK weight yarn, the shawl measures 88” across by 20” deep. Using a lighter-weight yarn will give you a smaller shawl, or you can add rows for a larger one - either between the patterned rows or by adding another segment at the end. If you want a smaller shawl, it’s simple to omit rows or segments.

If you are looking for some lovely variegated yarns in DK/light worsted, check out Sunshine Yarns Merino DK (check for updates here), and the Babette colorways of Yowza, Kaweah, and Kunlun.
