Trá Socks
These socks are the ultimate cosy, soothing pair for a chilly winter’s night. The kind of night when warmth and comfort are exactly what you need – and sometimes, that comfort comes in the form of a soft, snug sock. It’s often the small, simple things that make all the difference.
I named this pattern Tra because it’s the Irish word for beach, and the ridges on the sock remind me of the patterns left by the sea as it laps the shore.
CONSTRUCTION
Knitted on double pointed needles in the round in one piece from the cuff down.
TECHNIQUES USED
Cast on, knit, purl, double pointed needles, in the round, decreasing, grafting stitches together. Optional but recommended to create the feeling of joy when joining your stitches: three needle cast off.
YARN
Two 50g balls of Mohair Tweed in shade A if you are knitting a foot length longer than size 6 then you will need a third ball of shade A.
and One 50g ball of Mohair Tweed in shade B.
