Traditional Icelandic three cornered shawl
This pattern comes in Icelandic and English.
This is a classic Icelandic three cornered shawl made in the simplest way in garter stitch with simple yarn-overs to do the increases. It’s a suitable project even for beginners.
The simplicity of the shawl gives you the possibility of adding your own touch to it, for example with a crochet edge.
This version is knit up in Nammi - my handdyed Icelandic wool - but you can use any type of similar weight yarn for nice results.
The needles used are relatively large which gives a light and airy feeling shawl.
50 grams of Nammi will give you a small shawl, children’s sized or small for an adult. 100grams will give you a fully grown adult’s shawl.
