Bold, simple cables are what the Traveling Cable Hat and Scarf Set are all about! If you are a newer cable knitter, this pattern graduates knitters from basic cable columns to moving simple cables across a purl background. Cables are fun and easy to knit in a chunky gauge and a brightly coloured yarn like Cascade Pacific Chunky!

Cable instructions are given in charts with instructions on how to interpret them. The scarf is an easy flat knit, while the hat is a bit spicier, knit in the round with a decoratively decreased cabled crown. Punctuate your Traveling Cable Hat with a giant pom-pom for an extra-cosy look!

Materials:

For Hat
1 ball Cascade Pacific Chunky ( or 120 yards of chunky weight yarn)
5mm 16”circular needle
6mm 16”circular needle
6mm set of DPNs

For Scarf
3 balls Cascade Pacific Chunky ( or 360 yards chunky weight yarn)
7mm needle

For both
Cable needle
Stitch markers
Wool needle

Skill Level: Easy to intermediate, cabling and working in the round experience helpful but not necessary. Instructions are charted.

Finished Measurements: Scarf measures 7”width, 56” length. Hat fits average woman’s head 19-22” circumference.
