This yarn sat on my desk looking warm and tropical in the midst of a raging snow storm. In my mind, I was sitting on a beach with waves breaking gently, sending little crabs up onto the wet sand where they quickly re-buried themselves. This vision translated into this design: a fishnet-center triangular shawl with a border that simulates the gentle waves and little sand crabs of warm summer days.
This design uses only basic crochet stitches and works up very quickly using one large skein of sock yarn. It is just enough to cover bare shoulders in the summer, or add some flair over long sleeves in the winter!
NOTE 5/10/10: Gauge is not critical for this design. However, if you choose to work this design at a looser gauge than specified, more yardage will be required.
