400-450 yards of Katsara Yarns Bamboo Merino (held double throughout) OR 200 – 240 yards of any worsted weight yarn

Pattern Glossary
K – knit
P – purl
C3f – cable 3 stitches to the front
C3b – cable 3 stitches to the back
K2tog – knit 2 together
Kfb – knit into the front and back of the next stitch
Pfb – purl into the front and back of the next stitch
Skp – slip 1 stitch, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over

Notes: This hat starts from the earflaps starts with the earflaps and works up. Instructions for making braided tassels and a pompom can be found at the end of the pattern. Always slip the first stitch of every row on the earflaps in order to create a smooth edge. To make a child’s sized hat, knit one less cable repeat in body of hat.
